Hopefully someone can get to the bottom of this someday, 'cause I would REALLY like to enjoy the iOS modelers but it's so hard to with latency.Seamlessly integrates with BIAS Amp Pro software and appĪs part of the BIAS ecosystem, BIAS Head is designed to be an extension of the acclaimed BIAS Amp Pro software (included) and the BIAS Amp app. There has to be a reason for the disparity. In other words, I simply can't believe that, all things equal, some would experience latency issues and others would not. The third, and possibly most likely/diplomatic option is that they simply have the right configuration of apps and settings and hardware which nearly eliminates the problem (ie someone who has a 64Gb iPad with 58Gb worth of apps & media & all sorts of background processes running verus the person with a newer 16Gb iPad with ONLY maybe Garage Band and Bias on it with all radios and background processes turned off). To turn it around on you slightly, I would say that people who claim they have no issues with latency are just not experienced enough to feel the difference or they simply have a higher tolerance for latency (much like some people don't notice/care when framrate drops in a video game and then flame people who go to the forums complaining about FPS drops). If you read through the reviews of it, problems with latency is a recurring theme. I know what immediacy is supposed to feel like and these iOS apps do not deliver (as a rule).

I've been a professional musician for quite a few years and a gear-head for even longer. As long as your processor is the same as iphone 5 or up you probably have nothing to worry about. Bias works great on my iPhone 5s, worked fine on my brothers 4s when he was on ios7 (never tried it with ios8) but ran like shit on my old iPhone 4. Not sure about your iPad or what processor it has. But for bias, this is the list from low to high gain: I'm not sure what was stock in Jamup since I have a ton of bias amps loaded in there also.

I would import bias amps into Jamup free since you get the tubescreamer stomp in Jamup free.

With Jamup amps, all you can change is the basic EQ. In my opinion, bias amps are much better sounding as well as being much more tweakable. I would get Bias and The free version of Jamup if you want to spend as little as possible.
